Fiona's
Diary In addition to my usual inefficiency I have had the added problem
of not being able to access my website for a few months - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! With this
in mind do have a look at the horses for sale page as it will now be continually updated, we have a lovely little mare in
recently from Ireland, Lotty, who is proving to be a machine cross country and a real winner in the showjumping ring. She
is going to make an awsome junior horse, and with dressage points already under her belt there will be no stopping her.
Compared to last year we have had what can only really be described as a somewhat disastrous start to the season!
The decision to go to Portugal on the sunshine tour is one that I will be regretting for some time. The sunshine was
not apparent and the constant rain and wind did little to help the horses confidence or enjoyment of their work. I will
not go into detail but surfice to say in 2 weeks we ran 3 times with 5 horses on the truck! What can I say . . .
it's good to be home!
Since then progress has been steady with a lot of ballotting and a few early cancellations.
We should be back in action next weekend though with the novices at Broadway followed by the lovely Hambledon the week after.
As ever we have been doing our share of showjumping and I was ver proud of my little horses when Frank, Smartie and Bell were
1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 1m20 at Summerhouse a few weeks ago! Going home in profit always makes you smile! Roma
went to the Blue Chip Championships last week and managed to win the 1m25 qualifier and finished 6th in the championship -
not bad for a part timer we thought.
So as ever we are privelaged to have a very smart team of horses again this
season, always on the look out for more and always willing to sell what we have to the right person. Hopefully things
will get going again soon on the eventing front and we are looking forward to a busy summer.
